  • The word Hotel is derived from French origin – relating to a building that sees a frequent level of visitors, where a degree of care is provided, obviously born from a simple care retreat or early hospital.

    Latterly evolved into a warm welcome and appropriately delivered hospitality. University Hotels can deliver on any budget and beauty is in the eye or “purse string” of the beholder!

Who can enter the U Dine Awards?

The U Dine Awards are open to all operators within the University Hospitality sector.


Can I enter more than one category?

Absolutely. You can enter whichever categories are relevant to your University.


Can I enter on behalf of somebody else, and give them credit?

Yes. If you enter on behalf of a colleague, you are welcome to add a note to tell us their name and job title. You may also add a note if there is no specific person for whom to give credit to. If this is not specified, the entry will be made in your name.


What do the winners of the U Dine Awards receive?

The U Dine Awards winners will receive a trophy, presented to them at our Awards Dinner in Warwick on 5th June 2025. They will also win a place on our annual European Insight Tour to Lisbon, Portugal in September 2025.

Entry criteria

Please ensure your entries meet the following criteria:

  • Each category entry should have a supporting document outlining credits for inclusion of no more than 1250 words.

  • Each category can be supported by a maximum of 6 supporting images each with a short, concise overview paragraph.

  • Hospitality / banquet selectors may include a menu to support relevant category entries.

  • Internet / website reference links to applied tech / solution service may be included – with focused reference as to what the value is.

  • Each category submission can be supported by a 2 minute self-created, video. Videos should be sent via WeTransfer under the title U Dine Awards + your company name to: hello@udinenetwork.co.uk
